IT medical transformer vs. ordinary isolation transformer
The IT medical transformer differs fundamentally from ordinary industrial/commercial transformers in terms of design standards, core performance, and safety concepts. It is not a medical version of a regular transformer; instead, it is a specialized power supply device specifically designed for the safety of lives in medical facilities.
Medical-specific standards: such as IEC 60601-1, GB 9706.1, which have strict regulations regarding "medical electrical systems".
General standards: such as IEC 60076, GB 1094.1, etc.
Insulation and Isolation Requirements
"Double insulation" or "enhanced insulation". The insulation between primary and secondary must be able to withstand an AC withstand test of up to 4000V or more (typically 4kV+), and an integrated insulation monitoring device (IMD) must be set up.
Standard insulation. The withstand test value is usually a conventional value (such as 3kV). There is no insulation online monitoring requirement.
Leakage Current Limiting
