Zhejiang Yibaling Power Equipment Co., Ltd. is a professional manufacturer of transformers and voltage regulators. It can produce isolation transformers, power transformers, and automatic voltage regulators.
We have over 3 years of experience in manufacturing transformers and voltage regulators for export. Yibaling transformers enjoy a warranty period of at least 2 years. ODM and OEM services are also available.
Yibaling's factory has over 10 engineers and technicians and a staff of over 60 people. The factory covers a complete production line from winding, silicon steel sheet cutting to transformer manufacturing.
An isolation transformer is a device that first converts alternating current into a magnetic field and then uses the magnetic field to convert it back into alternating current on the other side.
This "electricity-magnetism-electricity" transmission process is like a physical firewall, which isolates direct potential dangers and interferences and only allows filtered pure energy to pass through.
When alternating current (such as 220V household power) enters the primary winding of the isolation transformer, this winding instantly becomes a rapidly changing magnetic electromagnet.
This magnetic field is firmly captured and transmitted to the secondary winding by the "core" made of silicon steel sheets in the middle, while filtering out the noise interference in the power grid and outputting pure current.
The primary and secondary windings of isolation transformers manufactured by Yibaling are completely electrically isolated, preventing the formation of a circuit between them. Furthermore, due to the high-frequency rejection characteristics of the transformer core, high-frequency noise entering the secondary winding is significantly reduced. The use of isolation transformers to float the secondary winding relative to ground limits their application scenarios. Simultaneously, the low capacitive current to ground in isolation transformers prevents harm to humans, ensuring high safety performance.
The minimal capacitive coupling between primary and secondary windings suppresses interference from natural phenomena or grid noise. These design features also confer protective functions on equipment.
Another function is voltage transformation. While transformers inherently convert voltage levels, isolation transformers critically separate the ground planes of input and output circuits. For example, if a person touches a neutral wire and then comes into contact with the ground, no current will flow. However, if the person directly touches a live wire and then touches the ground, it could be life-threatening. With an isolation transformer, for the same voltage conditions, as long as both wires remain isolated from the ground, touching either wire and then touching the ground will not pose a safety hazard.
The core functions are twofold: ensuring safety and eliminating interference.
First, regarding safety. In factory maintenance areas, laboratories, or damp and potentially hazardous environments like mines and swimming pools, people are prone to electric shock. It acts as an “electrical insulation shield,” separating circuits that people may touch from the main power grid, fundamentally eliminating the risk of electric shock. In hospital operating rooms and ICUs, it becomes the “lifeline” for life support equipment, forming an independent power supply system. Even if the grid experiences minor issues, it never affects critical devices like ventilators and monitors.
Next, interference suppression. Many precision devices—such as laboratory instruments, factory PLC control cabinets, and data center servers—are highly susceptible to grid noise. Mild cases result in data errors, while severe cases cause malfunctions or system crashes. An isolation transformer acts as a “power purifier,” filtering out these grid-borne disturbances. In professional audio and broadcasting systems, it also eliminates that annoying humming noise, delivering cleaner sound.
Beyond that, it serves as a practical “adapter” and “isolator.” Many imported devices operate on 110V. Connecting them directly to our 220V grid risks burnout, but adding an isolation transformer safely steps down the voltage. In factories, equipment like variable frequency drives generates harmonic “garbage” during operation, polluting the entire grid. Installing an isolation transformer upstream acts like a “firewall,” containing the pollution locally and preventing it from affecting other sensitive equipment.
Thus, from life-saving safety protection to ensuring stable equipment performance, and solving practical voltage matching and system compatibility issues, they quietly play a critical role in every corner of modern power systems.
