The SBK Step Up and Down Transformer is a flexible tool specifically designed to address the specific problem of voltage mismatch in industrial sites. The core features of the SBK step up and step down transformer are compact, efficient, and robust.

It adopts an auto-transformer or double-winding optimized design, which is smaller in size under the same capacity and is particularly suitable for the transformation of distribution cabinets with limited space or mobile equipment.

II. Working Conditions and Installation

1. Altitude ≦2500m;

2. Highest ambient temperature + 40℃; lowest ambient temperature-25℃;

3. Relative humidity of atmosphere should be lower than 50% at +40℃.

Relative humidity of atmosphere could be higher under low temperature. In the most humid month, the highest average relative humidity of atmosphere should be 90%, and its lowest temperature should be +25℃; attention should be given to the condensation due to temperature change;

4. Make sure there is no filth or explosive medium in the air that may damage its insulation or erosive gas or dusts. During use, transformer should be protected from water, rain or snow.

5. No serious vibration or jolt in installation place.


III. Operating Manual

1. Unpack the packing, and take out the operating manual and transformer. Read the operating manual carefully before using.

2. Prior to using, network voltage must be tested to see whether it is the same as the rated voltage input value with allowable deviation±5%. If the value of network voltage suppresses the rated voltage greatly, voltage stabilizer can be installed at the fore end of the transformer to ensure its normal operation.

3. Wiring with appropriate wires. Ensure that the wiring is reliable. Electrify after checking.

4. The installation place should accord with the regulations under Term 2. Transformer should be fixed firmly and be protected from vibration and erosion.


IV. Matters needing attention

1. Prior to ordering, please estimate the total capacity of electric appliance and choose transformers of equal capacity.

2. Transformers can’t be used while overloaded. Users should consider using fuses or circuit breakers to control overload at output terminal or input terminal of transformers.

3. Prior to installation and using, please check the nameplate and data on the instruction manual to see whether it meets your requirement.

4. While working, the iron core and coil of transformer will generate heat, which is normal. If the temperature rises too high or even smokes, electricity should be cut promptly. Check the capacity of electric appliance and make adjustment.

5. Please avoid collision and damp during transportation. Maintain well while it’s put into use.

Q: This SBK Step Up and Down Transformer seems to meet our requirements. However, our factory uses 480V 60Hz power supply, while your standard model seems to be designed for 380V 50Hz. Can the product be adapted to different frequencies and voltages? Will this affect its output performance and lifespan?

A: Yes, the SBK Step Up and Down Transformer can be customized for 480V input. The standard 380V model is designed for the common Chinese market.

For markets like North America that use 480V three-phase power as the standard, all our regular production models are equipped with a 480V primary (input) winding.

This is a basic design parameter and there is no technical issue. When placing your order, just clearly inform us of the input and output voltages you need.

Meanwhile, the transformers produced by us are designed for 50/60Hz. It can be adapted to different frequencies and voltages.
